Scrap Lead and Copper - Making Some Extra Money

Copper is one of the important metals that are used frequently in a number of industries. Due to its popularity, scrap copper is always in high demand. In fact in recent years, the price for scrap copper has skyrocketed. It shouldn't be surprising either, recycling copper is easier and cheaper than running a labour intensive copper mine.

Scrap copper can be found in a variety of locations. For instance, you can find it a lot of old wiring, current electrical wiring uses it too, old picture frames and copper pipes, just to name a few.

Another valuable scrap metal is lead. While not quite as valuable as copper, it is still quite profitable. Besides always being in demand, the metal's price has been steadily increasing over the years and well worth the trouble of disposing it.

Once you have gathered your scrap, do a little research. There are a number of companies that will take your scrap, depending on its condition. Is it clean? What was it used for? Are some of the questions asked, to help determine the metal scraps value. Once that's been settled the company will give you a quote on the how much the scrap metal is worth, per kilo.

It is also important to remember, the scrap metal prices are in a constant state of flux. It can go up or down on any given day, but still the price for scrap non ferrous metals has been steadily increasing over the years.
