Scrap Copper Prices Per Pound January 2013

The recession has been a downturn for most businesses however the scrap industry seems to be flourishing. This is because the price of scrap has risen exponentially. This sudden rise has caused many scrap yards to offer much higher prices for a wide variety of scrap materials.

Did you know: Scrap copper prices per pound have almost doubled in value? This is because scrap copper prices were incredibly low and now copper ore stores are beginning to dwindle, this means companies are willing to pay more to recycle and reuse the copper.

At present Scrap copper prices are averaging around $4 per pound some scrap dealers are even willing to pay up to $3.9 because they see it as an investment in the future as this price can only rise. Copper is a commodity that isn't increasing at a rapid rate, but it is also a metal that is used in a huge amount of things i.e. Wiring, Coins etc.
